Founded in 1968, Torc Candles began as a small, family-run business in Borris, County Carlow—a historic granite village nestled in the fertile River Barrow valley beneath Mount Leinster.

In the mid-1990s, the company pivoted to premium home-fragranced candles, a move that established Torc as Ireland’s largest and most successful candle manufacturer. Today, our highly automated, streamlined facility produces over 120 million candles & diffusers annually, brightening homes across five continents.

While our technology has evolved, our core commitment to safety, excellence, and staff loyalty remains as steadfast today as it was in 1968. Inspired by our lush Irish countryside and the 19th-century limestone viaduct shadowing our facility, our next chapter was a natural evolution.

This new chapter centers on the ingredients we use and how we source them. We are increasingly transitioning to clean energy and focusing our production on premium, natural raw materials—including soy and rapeseed wax, 100% sustainable cotton wicks, and pure fragrance oils.

As we close in on 60 years of craftsmanship, we look forward to launching an exciting new range of innovative products and fragrances.
